My Senses and the Mandarin
SOLD
Medium: watercolor, gouache, and acrylic on paper

The text in this image is painted with white acrylic. It reads: I pull the skin off a sweet, small, juicy mandarin. The peel pushes back against the pull of my hand. The push is broken when the skin tears. The tear of the skin makes a soft, faint, steady, satisfying sound. My face is struck with an intensely sweet acidic stinging mist. My fingers squeeze down on the soft white foam inside the peel.
